McCarthy Cookies

What does victory taste like? It tastes like frosted icing slathered over a sugar cookie in the shape of a snowman. With sprinkles. The third annual Ziegenfuss cookie decorating contest resulted in my winning "Most Creative" for my rendition of the abominable snowman from RUDOLPH, THE RED-NOSED REINDEER, and Heather Hlavka winning "Honorable Mention" for her faithful portrait of Adrian Peterson of the Minnesota Vikings.

ALIEN8

Mid-Ohio-Con 2007

Look for me at the Guardian Line booth in Battelle Hall in the Greater Columbus Convention Center, November 24 & 25. I'll be the one drawing sketches, signing comics, and looking terribly uncomfortable.

Muscles & Fights 2 - Review

"Kevin McCarthy's contribution “Fantasy Fighter” is also very reminiscent of old ’70s underground comix. It’s dirty and surreal, yet the art is sparse enough so that each page looks almost like a kids coloring book, giving the story a surprising innocence and naivete." - Mike Everleth for BadLit.com.

Preview: The Seekers #3 - Interior Art

Still a work in progress, here are a few pages from the third issue of THE SEEKERS; drawn and colored by Tony Leonard Tamai. Tony and I have worked together before, on FASTBALL EXPRESS, a "manga" MACBETH graphic novel, and DIVINE WIND from Michael Chabon Presents The Amazing Adventures of The Escapist.

True Tales of the Twin Cities: UPDATE

My softball team just played its first game at that fateful field since my strip ran in the City Pages, and I couldn't resist returning to the "scene of the crime." All the incriminating evidence had been cleared away! I'd like to think my little exposé had something to do with it.
